children learningFour-year old children are able to walk along a path, ride a bike and can even swim. They are more interested in paintings and drawings. They may try to move in a grown-up way but they are still not as strong as adults in terms of their structure.

Since your child is interested in arts, you can offer toys such as toy digital camera or music player. You can accompany your child outside your house and play with his camera. You can let him take pictures. Pictures taken from special toy cameras can be printed out. You can let them print the pictures them have taken. You should remember that most of the children take pictures of images that have a meaning for them. You can let them express their thoughts on why they choose the specific object to be taken. This toy is not only for him to be able to express his thoughts. This is also a good opportunity for him to enhance his skills in observing his environment.

One of the popular outdoor toys 4 year olds play is the dollhouse which is particularly for girls. You can let her set up her dollhouse outside your home especially if she has several sets of them. You can let her think of specific names of the streets or places within her dollhouses. This can help her use her imagination and express them verbally. If your child is playing by herself, you can let her tell a story to you. This method can encourage her to become confident in expressing her thoughts and ideas.

Radio-controlled toys can be offered to boys who are four years old. This can give your child the excitement of engaging into a healthy competition. You can create a race track using the objects around your backyard. You can put twigs as roadblocks and the like. You can let him play with his race cars with you as the announcer of the speedway. This can let him feel that it is as if he is really competing. After the race, you can teach him values such as sportsmanship. As early as 4 years old, he should be able to grasp the essence of accepting losses. You should also give him descriptive praises when he wins in the race. You can also start teaching him about traffic rules and road signs. You can concretely explain this further when you go out.

Another good example of outdoor toys 4 year olds can play is the sports toy. You can start letting your child play this type of toy as early as 2 years old however, when he reaches the age of four, you can add more challenges to this. You can raise the board of basketball hoops and the like. If you are letting your child play baseball, you should let him take turns. You should let him feel how it is like to be a pitcher. You can record the goals he was able to score or how many times he was able to shoot the ball. This can give him the sense of success.

One Year Olds Learn Balance and Coodination

Outdoor toys one Years OldThrough the first year of your child’s growth, you are able to notice constant and remarkable physical development. Your baby was able to discover things and learned to adapt to his environment. With the age of one year old, your baby now understands most of the simple words that he hears when you converse with him. Your baby likes to imitate certain actions such as sweeping and using the telephone. It is alright for your child to see other children around him but he prefers to play on his own.

In order for you to assist your child in developing his sense of balance as well as coordination, you can give him ride-on toys. This is one of the best outdoor toys one year olds can play. At first, you should assist him in getting on and off the ride-on toy. In time, he would be able to do this on his own but you should still remain nearby so that your child is assured that there is someone who can catch him when he falls. Once he is on his toy, you should clear the area on which the ride-on will pass. You should remember that children of this age are able to push themselves backward before they can move forward. Coordination as well as more strength is needed in acquiring the skill of being able to move forward. In order to encourage your baby to try moving himself forward, you should prepare a path for him to follow. You can stand a bit far from her and try to ask him to come closer to you. When he was able to reach you, you can then move farther.  You can use this toy when you go around your yard or even around your neighborhood.

You can also place playsets with an animal theme outside your backyard. This is a good example of outdoor toys one year olds can have to enhance their imagination. He is able to explore new things by interacting with his playset and listening to the sounds of certain animals. You can encourage your child to mimic the animal sounds that he hears so that his skill for recognition is enhanced. One year olds love to imitate the actions that they see. You can introduce to him how certain animals walk then you can let him practice different animal walks. You can ask him to do so in random so that your child’s memory is also challenged. Miniature of vehicles that can be seen around the community can also be used as outdoor toys for your child. You can teach them about the specific uses of each of the vehicles like the garbage truck for collecting the trash from every house. You should remember that you should give simple descriptions to your child. You can also point the actual vehicle when they pass by so that he will be apply to conceptualize what he has learned from the miniature vehicles as well as the information you have provided him.
