is child obesity neglect
If a parent knowingly feeds there kids high fat diets….is that child neglect..?

If a parent continusly feeds there kid (between 6-9yrs old) a high fat diet…knowing the consequences in the future of what they are doing…could that be considered child neglect…and if obesity in the US is a really big problem…why aint it considered child neglect to let your kid get morbidly obese…
ok to the guy that said sometimes a kid wont eat…I did go through that stage, and u know what….if you get hungry you will eat…espically if the food is infront of u like it or not….Its not in human nature for one to starve ones self if there is something to eat right infront of you..
and i know McCdonalds every so often or on long road trips yea i know i wont lie i eat there to…but not all the time..

omg, my boyfriend is going through this very issue with his ex and their child. she doesn’t believe in feeding him vegetables it seems. he gets ice cream for lunch. his typical dinner is fried bologna with fried eggs. he’s not obese yet, but he is overweight. heart problems run in her family. i won’t even discuss the he comes home smelling like a bar.

cps does not care. they have been to her house more than once for things like him getting out at 3 am and wondering the streets of a large city for an hour until he got scared and beat on a neighbors door (he’s 4 yrs old), putting hot sauce in his mouth because he back talked, spanking him with a wooden spoon while in the bathtub because he wouldn’t sit down, etc. they are aware of the diet issue. they claim it’s not harming his well being. i beg to differ. it is neglect. he’s being set up for a lifetime of future health problems.

child obesity uk
Obsession with obesity?

I’ve started to realise that perhaps every newspaper has some news or another about weight. I heard on BBC news about how children from five onwards would be weighed and parents could receive letters telling them that their children are fat. WHAT HAS THIS WORLD COME TO? Isn’t there any more important news? Has the war in Iraq suddenly finished? Has poverty in third world countries ceased to exist? I’m 15 now and can judge for myself what I should and shouldn’t eat. I have NEVER eaten anything from McDonolds EVER, stop shoving your weight obsessions onto us, that’s probably why there are so many weight problems. People starve themselves thinking that they’re too fat, or eat too much from depression which is sometimes caused because they are called fat. Has the UK become over obsessed in weight issues?

I do agree that the media is obsessed with obesity and that there are more important things in life.
